When Pittsburgh’s most iconic ride — The Burgh Bus — needed a brand as bold as their experience, they turned to Top Hat. We created a full visual identity that captured the energy, humor, and unmistakable Pittsburgh pride of their Transportainment™ adventure. From designing custom typography that feels playful yet unmistakably rooted in the city’s black-and-gold spirit, to developing a logo and brand system that looks just as good on a t-shirt as it does rolling down Carson Street, we built a brand that moves with them — literally and figuratively.

We didn’t stop at the logo: we designed the full bus wrap with a show-stopping exterior that turns heads at every stoplight. We also extended the experience into vibrant billboards, promotional materials, and digital assets that bring The Burgh Bus’s voice to life. Every detail — from the flowing type to the bold color palette — was created to deliver one message loud and clear: this isn’t just a ride, it’s a rolling Pittsburgh party.

To celebrate the launch of The Burgh Bus, Top Hat illustrated a custom billboard parodying the classic National Lampoon’s Vacation poster. The hand-drawn illustration captured the same wild, irreverent spirit that defines the Burgh Bus experience, instantly grabbing attention and giving Pittsburgh a hilarious, unforgettable new piece of roadside art.

Beyond the National Lampoon parody, Top Hat rolled out a full series of bold, attention-grabbing billboards for The Burgh Bus. With edgy, tongue-in-cheek headlines like “Big Bus Energy,” we made sure the brand’s voice was just as loud and unforgettable as the ride itself. Each design was crafted to turn heads, spark laughs.
