Top Hat Brings Home 2 Prestigious Silver Anvil Awards

June 8, 2018 — It’s on every communicator’s bucket list to get a Silver Anvil at some point in their career. Last night, we crossed it off ours, bringing home not just one, but two Silver Anvils.

The Silver Anvil Awards — also known as the “Oscars of PR” — are recognized as the most prestigious and iconic awards in the communications industry. Since 1945, the Silver Anvils have celebrated industry leaders, from solo practitioners to large agencies, small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, and not-for-profits to major government agencies.

We were finalists in two categories coming into the event, and we went two-for-two last night, scoring the Silver Anvils for both those categories. They include:

  • Marketing > Business to Business > Professional Services
  • Reputation/Brand Management > Business > Companies With Sales Up to $50 Million

Both awards were for our “Will Work for Beer” campaign, launched last April.

In the campaign, we offered to work for one brewery entirely in exchange for beer. The campaign attracted dozens of proposals from craft breweries local, national and international. Ultimately, we chose to work with Lord Hobo Brewing Company in Boston — the fastest growing regional craft brewery in the United States — and have acquired numerous beer clients since.

The campaign also won six awards, including “Best of Show,” in the Western Pennsylvania region’s largest communications awards in January 2018.
