Top Hat Scores Renaissance Award for Digital Campaign

We have a saying around here—we're not in it for the awards, but they're often a side-effect of our success.

On Jan. 26 (2017), our work was recognized at the PRSA Pittsburgh Renaissance Awards—the Greater Pittsburgh Region’s most prestigious communications awards ceremony. We took home a Renaissance Award in the Digital Campaign category for our work on the OnTheRocks crowdfunding campaign.

About the Digital Campaign

OnTheRocks is a smaller-than-a-gallon-of-ice-cream, no-parts-moving clear ice maker. Using interchangeable trays, it can make six clear ice cubes, six clear ice diamonds, five clear ice spheres or one block.

In order to bring OnTheRocks to the market, it needed to crowdfund. That’s where we came in—to assist with the communications efforts.

  • The initial ask on Indiegogo (to cover the costs associated with mass production setup) was $25,000. The campaign was only set to run for 30 days.

The Results

The campaign kicked off on Monday, Sept. 12 and by the end had not only achieved its ask, but far beyond it. All-in-all it achieved $80,000, 300% beyond its goal.

To us, there’s nothing better than seeing our clients succeed. OnTheRocks is a true startup success story that’s inspiring as heck.
